Don't Touch my Cheetos

My sweet, precious Ruby refuses to eat baby food. For a while she ate it. Then, she would eat a few bites, and now if she even sees the spoon she shuts her lips really tight. She eats bites of what I eat, so that is a little nutrition, and she still nurses all the time. But the one food that get her all excited to eat are these little baby puff things that look like Cheetos, so we just call them cheetos. If she is crying, or you need her to hold still, or be entertained, all you need is a Cheeto..it is amazing! Cheetos...the magic baby food!

I am such a whimp!

WE HAD A MOUSE IN OUR HOUSE!!!

WE have actually had a pretty interesting couple of days. Levi didn't sleep at all on SAt night (I was up with him until 4 and then Noah was up with him until at least 6). He seemed to be doing better so we went to church as normal.

After church he was acting a little strange at his Gram's house, and then when we had him take a few bites of a sandwhich, he pueked. Now, Levi has a pretty sensitive gag reflex, so this could have been a fluke. However, before we left Grams looked at his throat and it was swollen. So I prepared myself for a long night...again.

Noah went up to bed since he had to be up at 5, and moments later I see something run across our floor into the closet. So of course I scream and Noah comes running down the stairs. He emptied out the closet and found it, and it would not come out to meet its sad fate. So I ran to the grocery store (with both my children-because I didn't want Levi to see Noah kill it, and because Ruby is a big mama's girl and would scream otherwise). While we are gone, my clever husband set up a baracade of shoes leading out the front door and kindly poked at the mouse until it ran out the door.

I was so glad it was gone when I got home. However, I didn't sleep because I was worried about mice, and I refuse to open the door where the mouse ran, and where there is now traps for fear of seeing something. I am such a whimp!

Our Beautiful Garden

I love the springtime. It seems like the trees were bare one day and then the next day they were beautiful and green. To our suprise we have tons of bulbs that were in our backyard that we have been enjoying.

Now summer is here and for the first time ever we have a yard that we have to take care of. I love taking care of our yard. This past weekend Noah actually had a bunch of days off work because of a conference he is attending today and tomorrow, so we dug out a garden in our backyard. I asked for a garden for Mother's Day, and it is so beautiful. Now if something would actually grow in it, that would be great!
So this is what it looked like after we got rid of an island of flowers and all the grass. The other dirt we also tilled because the previous owners of our house had a pool there, that killed the grass. Our dirt is so clay-like we have our fingers crossed that we can grow seed instead of getting sod.
To make our work a little easier we rented a roto tiller. It was so fun, I used my muscle and did it for about 60 seconds, and then gave it back to Noah! He is so strong!
Besides make a mess of the inside of our house this is what Levi did while we were working. He also took Ruby (who played happily in her stroller) on walks around our back yard. We are lucky that our kids love eachother so much!
Here I am raking the dirt after we tilled it. Hooray!
Finally done!! This is Noah and Ruby spraying off the bricks (which were around the island we took out). It is so beautiful!

The last two pictures were taken on another day when Levi and I planted the first flower seed of the summer. And Ruby wanted to take a cruise in the jeep!

Levi is 3!!

Of course, after I was done with sister Levi needed his turn....and I also have yet to get his taken. His turned out more darling than I thought they were when I took them. And we even did a wardrobe change because he insisted on having his hat in the pictures. He takes this hat everywhere with him, so it is the essence of his 3 year old life.

My little Levi is so full of life! He is every color of the rainbow, which is why I like some of these pictures so much. He is so energetic, and mischievious, and sweet, and cuddly, and loveable. He keeps me on my toes! He loves his backyard and exploring in it. He likes watching worms, but runs from spiders. He is my little firecracker!!

Ruby at 7 Months

Well, I can hardly believe that my sweet Ruby is 7 months old!!! I have been procrastinating going to get her 6 month pictures taken, so when she looked so cute in her Hawaiian dress this morning I decided to just try taking them myself. I think that they turned out all right, I may have another go at it with a different outfit. She is such a good girl and so photogenic. When I get one that I love I will send some prints out to everyone.

As for her milestones at this age, so is a typical 7 month old. She is trying to crawl. Her daddy says it looks more like she is swimming on the floor because she flings her arms and twists her body, and somehow manages to move! She does not like baby food. She would rather eat what we are eating, so she is already doing a ton of finger foods like peas and bananas. She has also discovered that she loves sippy cups with apple juice. I wish that we could share every moment with you....she is so precious!

Apologies

Sorry the next two blogs are out of order....I don't know how to switch them.

And can somebody PLEASE help me to get music on our blog? I am thinking the Wiggles would be good! I actually had a dream they let me in the Wiggles the other night and the wiggles were trying to teach me their songs and I told them I knew them all already. Perhaps I could record myself singing "Fruit Salad, Yummy Yummy" and put it on the BLOG!

Updates

Well both of my children are asleep, so I thought I would finish my updating!!!!
Levi turned 3 in March--WOW!!!! I think that he is a typical 3 year old boy, and has more energy that I never thought possible. In fact I may not believe it, if I didn't chase him every day.

We had a monkey themed birthday party complete with Monkey invitations, monkey games, monkey music, and monkey food. Levi talked about it the whole week before. It was a blast!

And of course what monkey party would be complete without a monkey cake? I am proud of how good this looks.....thanks to my best friend Martha Stewart for the idea!!!!

Two days after Levi's birthday my kids and I went on an airplane to Utah for 12 days. Poor daddy had to stay home to work. We attended my grandpa's 90th birthday party and......I got sick for 4 solid days, and didn't really fell sll the way better for a week, which is why I didn't get to see a lot of my Utah friends.....so please don't feel left out if I didn't see you, The thing I saw the most of on my vacation was my mom's couch! Thanks mom!!!

This is Levi and I on the airplane. He did such a good job. He was very intimidated by the airport. He threw a tantrum when they checked in his carseat, made him dump out his milk from his sippy cup, and take off his shoes. But he loved being on the place and even stayed in his seat while mom went to change the diaper that Ruby so graciously filled with a very smelly smell during take off.

This is an adorable picture of Ruby with her Great-Grandma Lyon. We got to go to lunch with them when we were finally feeling better. Levi was in a mood that day. I promise Grandma that he is really charming!!!Levi really took a liking to my little brother. They were buddies playing bus, and on the swings, and going on adventures outside. However, I guess that he doesn't call any of his uncles here in Denver Uncle, because he calls my brother "hunka Steve" and I think my brother is a hunk, it was sooooooooo cute!!Ruby found a new favorite toy in Utah. She loved this carrot. She doesn't have a blanket or anything that she is attached to, but in Utah she was attached to a carrot......and now that she is 6 months she eats them and likes them quite a lot!So we had a good vacation. We loved seeing my nieces Julia and Hannah. Levi treated Julia like he treats Ruby wanting to give her kisses all the time. We wish that we had those things that they have on Star Trek sp we could beam to Utah to play with them all the time.

Well I guess that is about it. I will be a better blogger someday. Sure love ya!

Update

Chrissy is FINALLY updating our Blog. I know that it has been forever, but don't worry....this is going to be a nice comprehensive update!!!!!!

We moved into our house a week before Christmas. Thanks to Noah's brothers being so close, we got everything into the house in a few hours, and then it took me a few weeks to unpack. We live in a really beautiful area of LIttleton called Roxborough. I would have to say that our favortie part is having a yard....everyone with a 3 year-old should have a yard. It is heaven. Yesterday we had a bunny in our yard all day, so I have to fidure out a way to keep it out of my garden!!!!

Christmas we really fun. As usual, we had to wake Levi up, because Noah and I couldn't stand the excitment. Santa brought him a Powerwheels jeep...which still gets driven around the house until the weather is good. Here are a few pics of Christmas.I thought that I would have a picture of me and Noah so that you can all see that we look the same. We had a good Christmas....we got our first house!!!This is Levi with his cousins Jonah and Bella on Christmas Eve. They live here in Denver and Levi LOVES them. He calls them JonahBella....one word. They are so fun to play with and we love living so close to them. This is Levi and his Jeep. You will notice that he had his pant rolled up to his knees. This is what he does when his pants get wet..and he says "Pants Sick." He loves his jeep.

Ruby was happy on Christmas too.....she was 2 and a half months old, and got a few little toys and books.

We have had a few visitors come see our new house and want everyone to know that they are ALWAYS welcome. Here are some cute pics.

My sister Leslie came in July for a long weekend. We had so much fun. This is a picture of her playing Dance Dance Revolution with my children. It was a blast! I am sorry the picture is sideways...I just don't have time to figure our how to fix it!!! Leslie and I made the cutest purses ever... I am proud of them, I should take a picture of it to post.

My sister Marie came in March during her spring break for a whole week. We had a blast and while she was here....RUBY ROLLED OVER!!!!! Of course Noah and Marie saw it before me, but she rolls all over the place now, and sits for a few seconds. While Marie was here.....

....My cousin Ashley competed in a scholarship competition at Johnson and Wales University in Denver. So her and her parents were here for the weekend. Ruby got to play with them at their hotel and we stole Ashley to come spend one night at our house.
