Vacation part 1

We had a wonderful time on our vacation at the beginning of the month. Noah helped us drive to Utah and then had to fly back to work for a week. Then he flew back and spent a week there with us. It was so nice to have so much time and to see friends that we haven't seen in a while. Here are a few highlights.

One day we went to Lagoon. I remember going to Lagoon when I was little and was so excited to take Levi and Ruby. I knew it would be a long and hot day. Marie and her friend Ryan came with us also. Levi had the time of his life. He wasn't scared of anything. He was even mad that he couldn't go on the big roller coasters. Ruby on the other hand was a lot more scared than I thought she would be. She screamed the first 10 seconds of her first ride. She did manage to enjoy the carousel, the haunted house, and this spinning octopus ride (an adult ride that she did with Noah.). However she did not like the boats (although she did give them a second try), or the log flume.

Levi is always so friendly wherever he goes. He call every kid he sees his friend. At Lagoon he was standing in line to ride on some car. The cars fit 2 people, but the other times Levi rode them he went all alone. This time he was standing in line next to a kid that was a little smaller than him. They started saying, "Goodbye red car," or "Goodbye blue car" as they would go by. When it came Levi's turn he got in his car and then turned and asked the other little boy if he wanted to ride with him. The other boys parents said it was all right, and they had a great ride together. I am so glad it is easy for Levi to make friends and to talk to everyone around him.

After wee picked Noah we went straight to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. It was amazing and beautiful. Levi and Ruby were so excited to be able to go inside the temple. They kept saying "Jesus" and pointing the artwork on the walls. Levi was once again the highlight of the temple. The baptismal font is a circle on the backs of oxen, and then there are stairs that lead into it in the shape of a rectangle. As we stood at the top of the stairs with Levi he said, "Look, its a key hole." What an amazing observation he made that clued the rest of us into another symbolism that we can connect with the temple. When we do work in the temple we are the key to those who cannot do the work for themselves.

I guess I will finish this post with another Levi moment from vacation. One thing we did while Noah was in Colorado was visit a lot of my friends. My friend Cami took us to a little beach in her neighborhood. Levi was so excited. He was so excited that before we could review the rules he was already in the water clear to his chin, and standing on his tippy toes and couldn't move anywhere. So I took a deep breath and went in the water in all of my clothes to get him. The rest of the time he was well behaved and stayed closer to the shore. Ruby usually doesn't like the water. This beach completely changed her! She loved going in the water with Cami's little boy Micah and copying everything that he did. She loved playing in the sand, and drinking the water-YUCK! It was a blast. Thanks Cami for a great day!

Isaac 3 Month Pictures

My sister took these amazing pictures of Isaac while we were in Utah. He is already 3 months old and holding up his head, and smiling, and laughing a little. There were so many cute ones! Thanks Aunt Janette!
