Our Beautiful Garden

I love the springtime. It seems like the trees were bare one day and then the next day they were beautiful and green. To our suprise we have tons of bulbs that were in our backyard that we have been enjoying.

Now summer is here and for the first time ever we have a yard that we have to take care of. I love taking care of our yard. This past weekend Noah actually had a bunch of days off work because of a conference he is attending today and tomorrow, so we dug out a garden in our backyard. I asked for a garden for Mother's Day, and it is so beautiful. Now if something would actually grow in it, that would be great!
So this is what it looked like after we got rid of an island of flowers and all the grass. The other dirt we also tilled because the previous owners of our house had a pool there, that killed the grass. Our dirt is so clay-like we have our fingers crossed that we can grow seed instead of getting sod.
To make our work a little easier we rented a roto tiller. It was so fun, I used my muscle and did it for about 60 seconds, and then gave it back to Noah! He is so strong!
Besides make a mess of the inside of our house this is what Levi did while we were working. He also took Ruby (who played happily in her stroller) on walks around our back yard. We are lucky that our kids love eachother so much!
Here I am raking the dirt after we tilled it. Hooray!
Finally done!! This is Noah and Ruby spraying off the bricks (which were around the island we took out). It is so beautiful!

The last two pictures were taken on another day when Levi and I planted the first flower seed of the summer. And Ruby wanted to take a cruise in the jeep!
